Experienced Assisted Living Care Team LeadersMeet our resident care team leaders, Anetta Townsend and Glenda Specht! Together, Anetta and Glenda have over 30 years of experience as professional caregivers. Each are unique in their own way yet have strong expertise in offering the greatest care and treatment available for an assisted living retirement community.
Anetta Townsend, LPN
Anetta Townsend is the Director of Resident Care for Daystar Retirement Village and is a licensed practical nurse. She received her nursing training at Laney College in Oakland, California and was employed at the Norse Home in Seattle for sixteen years, followed by seven years at Covenant Shores on Mercer Island. Anetta then “semi-retired” and worked for a nursing agency working at many interesting facilities around Seattle and the east side. She first came to Daystar while working as an agency nurse. Now, as Care Director, Anetta loves meeting and working with the Daystar residents on a daily basis.
Anetta lives in Bellevue, WA with her retired husband, Louis, and has two grown children and a two year old granddaughter.
Glenda Specht, RN, MSN
Glenda Specht brings years of experience to the Daystar resident care team as a well-qualified registered nurse. She has broad experience including hospital based intensive care, emergency room, and nurse management. Her experience also includes community based in-home health care, long term care, and assisted living, and has been a nurse consultant for corporations in long term care and assisted living. She has eight years with the Department of Social and Health Services as a licensor and complaint investigator, both in facilities and in the community.
Glenda has travelled all over the United States and Europe as the daughter of an army officer, yet found her home in Seattle. She graduated from Queen Anne High School in Seattle and achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of Washington. She then attended Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing and St. Martin’s College to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She continued her education by attending Pacific Lutheran University and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing focusing on Continuity of Care.
Glenda is also president and CEO of her own company, GES Consulting.
