Specialized Care For You
Daystar Retirement Village offers a wide range of customized resident care services depending on the need of the individual resident, from assistance with activities of daily living to transportation and help with medication.
The Level of Care is determined by an in-depth evaulation by our nursing team.
List of Customized Assisted Living Services:
Assistance with Daily Tasks
Daystar Retirement Village provides assistance with daily tasks including help with bathing, toileting, transferring, mobility, personal hygiene, dressing and medications.
Help With Medications
Daystar has a licensed nursing staff available to administer directly, or to supervise the administration of medications, including oral and topical medications and eye/ear/nose drops and injections.
We do not accept foreign medications, yet will permit family members to provide medication services under certain conditions.
Intermittent Nursing Services
Resident care recipients may receive intermittent nursing services based on a negotiated service agreement and the needs of each individual resident. Services can include diabetic management, administration of health care treatments and other nursing services as needed.
Daystar Retirement Village uses nursing assistants under the delegation of a registered nurse to provide some authorized nursing services and typically has a registered nurse in the building one day a week and a licensed practical nurse in the building forty-five hours per week. We also welcome outside provider nursing care and hospice provider care.
Dementia and special care
Daystar is not a dementia care facility yet will provide care for residents with dementia, developmental disabilities, or mental illness who do not exhibit extreme behaviors such as wandering, intrusiveness, resistance to care and aggression and to whom we can safely provide care services.
Health Care Appointments
Daystar Retirement Village will help you arrange health care appointments and remind you of them, as necessary. We also will provide scheduled transportation to and from appointments.
We also can coordinate services you receive from health care providers in the community with the services that Daystar provides to you, if you agree and will coordinate care with private services.
Housekeeping and Maintenance
Daystar maintains your apartment and other areas you may use in a safe, clean and comfortable condition.
We provide weeky housekeeping for all residents and if you live in the Gardens, we will make your bed and empty your trash daily.
Laundry
Daystar Retirement Village provides laundry services to keep your clothes clean and in good repair, and provides you with clean towels, washcloths, and bed linens at least once per week.
If you live in the Gardens, we will provide all your laundry services and change your bed linens weekly. For all other buildings, there is a washer and dryer in your apartment and we will change your bed linens weekly. We provide additional laundry service for a fee.
Pets
Daystar is pet-friendly - your pet is welcome!
Activities
Daystar arranges social, recreational, religious or other activities including a weekly and monthly calendar of events and activities available to residents.
We provide scheduled transportation to appointments weekly, by locale and to many local churches.
Meals
We provide three meals per day, nutritious snacks, and prescribed general low sodium diets, general diabetic diets, and mechanical soft diets.
